During week 16 of To Our House, we were hosted by New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church.
We had volunteers from First Christian in Narrows, Big Stoney Creek Hikers Ministry, New Village, New Dublin Presbyterian and Staffordsville/Thessalis UMC.
Throughout the week, we housed 8 men. It was a great week aside from some inclement weather.
We saw some familiar faces along with kind new ones and the men also received bags of donated clothes they were all too edger to see what they could wear.
What a great turnout at Our Saviour Lutheran Church! We had lots of
great food and fellowship thanks to Our Saviour Lutheran, Christiansburg
Mennonite, St. Thomas Episcopal, and First Baptist Church in Radford!
Week four To Our House was hosted at Luther Memorial Lutherian Church in Blacksburg. On Tuesday night November 29th the men asked, some begged, to walk down to the corner to watch the Blacksburg Christmas parade.
Well, you just can't say no to the Christmas spirit. Right after dinner we all bundled up, volunteers and all, and walked down to the corner and watched them head to Main Street. Everyone enjoyed being able to go and see it all together.
We barely even noticed how freezing it was.

Blacksburg Baptist Church was very homey and welcoming during our stay
week 2 and on that Thursday the guys got to enjoy the spoil of watching
the game on the big screen and kick back with pizza. It was much enjoyed
by guest and volunteers alike.
Also one of our men found housing early
in the week and is settled in quite well.
(14 Nov 2011) Moving from the Presbyterian Church to the Baptist Church
early Saturday morning.Trucks are loaded with cots and other equipment
to move to the next site with the volunteers ready to go. Each week is
at a different location. We now have five men using the shelter.

(10 Nov 2011) Exciting news the long awaited van has arrived
at Fieldstone Church. After insurance red tape is sorted out the plan is
for it to be used to transport TOH guests to and from Church locations.
Bryson with our director of youth and family ministries Michael Tipton
It is time to move TOH to its second location, Blacksburg Presbyterian
Church. This will happen Saturday morning. Thank you all for making the
first week go so smoothly.
Blacksburg Presbyterian Church was the first location and was looking beautiful with new quilts for the cots.
The
first night ,Saturday 5th we had two guests. The bus on Sunday morning
had a little problem finding the church but otherwise everything went
smoothly.
